What a warrior! Having recently played his 6000th show earlier this summer, Ted Nugent just continued on touring and recently made a stop in Baltimore at Ramshead Live! Now we all know how "Uncle Ted" is and if you didn't you were definitely in for an awakening this night. Ted doesn't pull any punches. He plays a solid show and he tells it like it is, well at least how he sees it. This night was no different. In between songs he asked if he could make a political statement. He mentioned inviting Senator Obama to a show. He then proceeded to make this comment, "It isn't that he isn't white enough. It isn't that he isn't black enough. It's that the @*%$ @$#%&* isn't American enough!" To which the crowd went wild. Now Maryland is historically a Democratic state but it didn't matter what the party alignment was this night; this was a night of "Uncle Ted for President!".
The "Motor City Madman" tore through a set that kicked off with a medley that included "The Star Spangled Banner". On stage were both a United States flag as well as a Maryland state flag as well as the backdrop sporting the "Uncle Ted for President". Later in the set he was joined onstage by Derek St. Holmes. Derek was singer/rhythm guitar player for The Ted Nugent Band and currently is singing for The Paul Reed Smith Band. Together they performed "Hey Baby", "Just What the Doctor Ordered", "Stranglehold" and "Cat Scratch Fever".
The packed crowd at Ramshead Live! were definitely entertained this night. It doesn't matter that The Nuge is turning 60 this year. He was out there rockin' harder than men half, no two-thirds of his age! There is many a frontman that could take a lesson from this man. This was a great night for rock-n-roll.
