Up Close with Dia Frampton & Nick Price of Meg & Dia
by Courtney Campbell
Named so for the sisters of Meg & Dia Frampton, Meg & Dia gave a breath of freshness to the 2009 Take Action tour lineup. Earplugsrequired.com caught the tour in Baltimore at Ramshead Live!. Their set combined older songs such as "Roses" and "Monster" along with songs like "What If?" and "Black Wedding" from their soon to be released album Here, Here and Here. Known also for the cover songs they do, they didn't disappoint with the cover of Blind Melon's "No Rain". We caught up with singer Dia Frampton and drummer Nick Price prior to the show and learned of Dia's obsession with Tom Petty, Nick not running interference with the boys on the tour and how it was to work with Howard Benson. Take a listen!

ER: So my first question and my last I ask everybody. I want you to describe your band in three words.

ER:Now being that you are a girl fronted band, what kind of misconceptions do you think there are about you guys?

ER: Do you think people just don’t take girls seriously in a band?

ER: New album coming out. Compare and contrast to previous album

ER: You worked with Howard Benson on this album. How did you choose him and what did you learn from him?

ER: So on this album, on one of the songs you have a co-writer. How did that come about?

ER: When you see that a song was co-written, you never know how much was written by one person or the other. It could be just one thing that was changed.

ER:It's cool that someone else can bring that out of you.

ER: Now you guys do cover songs. Who would you like to cover one of your songs and which song would you like that to be?

ER: He's really good but most people your age don’t listen to Tom Petty.

ER: It's the future, you open up the Rock n' Roll Encyclopedia, what do you want to read under Meg & Dia?
