The Prodigy April 5th, 2009 @ 9:30 Club
by Courtney Campbell
Chris Cornell is a diva. That is not saying anything bad either. Bands and artists come and go but there are few that make such a mark on the industry as Cornell has with his successful runs with Soundgarden, Audioslave and as a solo artist. He has the voice and the stage presence to mesmorise the crowd and definitely knows how to work that stage. In the midst of his tour for his current solo undertaking Scream, Cornell made a stop at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC and of course sold the place out!

Coming on stage about 40 minutes late, Cornell kicked off the night with "Part of Me", from his current Timbaland produced album. The approximately two and a half hour set covered his entire career with an acoustic interlude thrown in as well. The set was one that could please a fan whether they were from the grunge era of Soundgarden, the Audioslave period or just loved Chris Cornell for himself. Personally I was never a Soundgarden fan; in fact never got into any of the bands during the grunge era. I love listening to Cornell perform these songs now. Like an aged wine, he is someone that has just improved with age.
